Avenue Henri Martin

  • Project type, size and location: Division of a 250 meter square apartment to create a rental apartment of 130 meter square (three bedroom), Paris XVI, renovation, decoration and furnishing.

  • Difficulties overcome: Creation of a brand new plumbing system with waste water pumped (hidden in false ceilings) to the back to the building where the building waste pipes are situated.

  • Testimonial: Antonia has a magic wand and makes the impossible, possible! She really listens at the beginning of the process and makes sure she understands the wishes and personality of her client. She is very creative, not only for the design of the apartment, but also in finding solutions to any problems that arise!

Before: We created the bathroom in what was a fitness area and storeroom. There were no water connexions at all in this room, and it’s not possible to created new waste water pipes in Haussmannian buildings, so I had to find another solution!
After: My expert plumber confirmed before the project began that, under certain constraints, waste water could be pumped to the existing building waste pipes at the back of the building. The water supply and waste water pipes are hidden in the tiled casing behind the twin basins, which also serves as a shelf for products. We included a laundry area in the new bathroom (in the cupboard to the left of the window, which also houses the waste water pumps), with a washer and dryer and storage space.
After: The new bathroom has a double basin and a bathtub which is wider at one end so that showering is more comfortable.
After: This is an overview of the dining room with the kitchen in the corner. The existing chairs and curtains are combined with the more contemporary design of the kitchen and dining table.
Before: We created the kitchen in a corner of the dining room.
Before: We created the kitchen in a corner of the dining room.
After: The atelier window created to separate the room entrance from the kitchen, designed to be a mix of classic and modern at the same time.
After: Antiqued mirror was installed as a splash back to make the space feel bigger and help integrate the kitchen into the rest of the room.
After: We chose a restricted colour palette to make the different views of the space more harmonious.
After: The panels of antiqued mirror on the wall reference the proportions of the atelier window and reflect the light, without feeling too modern. The oval lampshades are an organic shape and break up the straight lines.
